For pharma, the raw material data is not a formality. It is part of the product. It is also part of a client's strategy for getting a drug to market. That's true even if no one writes "market access" on the purchase order.
Consumers Ask About "Strongest"; I Ask About Proof
Every now and then, someone searches "what is the strongest denture adhesive on the market." It's a good consumer question. It's also incomplete. The adhesive that works best in one patient may fail in another, because saliva chemistry and denture fit matter as much as the polymer itself.
Formulators know this. They don't pick a polymer because marketing says it's "strong." They pick a polymer they can trust, then test it against a real application. Their ability to make a strong, consistent product depends on how much data they get from upstream suppliers.
If a raw material batch varies in molecular weight or viscosity, the finished adhesive changes too. No amount of end-product testing can fully fix that risk. That is why the entire supply chain has to be transparent before the question of "strongest" can have an honest answer.
But What About the Budget?
I can already hear procurement saying: "That's easy for you to say. We have targets." I get it. I sit on the business side of the same budget pressure.

I would rather pay for verification now than for surprises later. A supplier who lays out tolerances, test methods, and limitations is helping you set an accurate budget. The vendor with the low number and no details is asking you to budget for optimism.
